In Loving Memory of Linwood Tyler Murphy
Linwood Tyler Murphy, 71, of Sanford, died at his home on December 26, 2020.
Linwood was born in Portland, Maine on February 3, 1949. He attended local schools and graduated from South Portland High School. During the Vietnam War he was stationed in Saigon where he proudly served as military police. During his working life he was employed at Jordan Meats and the Portland Water District. He was a big Willie Nelson fan and always enjoyed playing Yahtzee. He will be remembered for one of his favorite sayings, “I’ll get to it.” Linwood was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be missed by many.
Linwood was predeceased by his parents, Rusty and Beverly Wilbur.
Surviving are his daughter, Lisa Fowler; two sons, Linwood Murphy and John Murphy; one brother; seven sisters and his girlfriend Joanne. He was loved by Kimber, Amanda, Gary and Krystle and their children, Austin, Peiton, Dylan, Hailey, William, Jayden, Luke, Jr. or “L.J.” and Emily and many other friends and family.
There will be no services held at this time. A celebration of life will be held in the spring at a date to be announced.
